Former Garwood Mayor George Casabona to be Remembered with Plaque

Plaque Location?
An underpass plaque may be coming to Center Street. The plaque will be a small gesture by the borough to acknowledge the accomplishments of one of its former, and more popular Mayors- George Casabona. Garwood officials are currently trying to secure a location, funding and approval to have the plaque mounted, according to a report in the Leader. Currently there is discussion as to whether it should be hung near the Garwood Train Station beneath the tracks or at borough hall, the report notes. One of the main supporters of the plaque project is Casabona’s daughter.
