Should Garwood Residents Plant Rain Gardens to Ease Flooding?

They are awfully pretty, and apparently can stave off some awful flooding in Garwood and elsewhere.

Rain gardens are an environmentally effective way to reduce rainwater runoff, one of the major causes of flooding in central Union County, according to a recent report on nj.com.

There are efforts underway to have local homes and businesses voluntarily build 1,000 of them. Experts say building a rain garden is not a very difficult thing to do, nor is it expensive.
