Garwood Mayor Wants One-Seat Ride to Manhattan, Us too!

Garwood Platform.
All aboard?! Mayor Patricia Quattrocchi is! She is one mayor speaking out about NJ Transit’s recent acquisition of dual-powered locomotives.
According to a report in the Independent Press it would now be possible for commuters riding Garwood's Raritan Line line to skip the mandatory stop at Newark Penn Station and head straight into Manhattan.

Quattrocchi also suggested the one-seat rides would likely spur new construction in Garwood, the report says. More. Garwood residents have supported efforts to get a city-bound train directly from Center Street. More. Our we getting our hopes up again? More.

  1. I like the Aeolian smokestack in the background. Also was that commuter shelter always there on the westbound side. At one time I thought there was none and it was just the eastbound that had it?
