The Garwood Lions Club has a political heavyweight at its helm- Garwood Mayor Patricia Quattrocchi. Borough councilwoman Sara Todisco is also an officer of the club. The full officer list for the 2012-2013 year was released recently: President- Patricia Quattrocchi, First Vice President- Peggy Briggs, Second Vice President- Jim Boyle, Recording Secretary- Mary Emmons, Corresponding Secretary- Peggy Briggs, Treasurer- Jim Marano, Lion Tamer- Sara Todisco, Tail Twister- Theresa Quigley. The officers will assume their new duties commencing July 1, 2011, according to the group.
Though the Lions are best known for recycling eyeglasses, this international service organization also sponsors the boroughs annual Halloween parade and many youth activities as well as an annual picnic for the Garwood's senior citizens.
