Report: Garwood Resident's Road Rage leads to ArrestA Garwood resident was placed under arrest Wednesday afternoon after an apparent road rage incident at the Westfield traffic circle involving an off duty Plainfield police officer following a near-accident in Scotch Plains, according to a report on the Westfield Patch.
Police Captain Clifford Autcher said police arrested Henry Koempel, Jr., 58, of Garwood after he is alleged to have threatened to shoot the Plainfield police sergeant. Koempel is alleged to have made the threat after the two almost had a motor vehicle accident at North Avenue and Hetfield Road in Scotch Plains, according to the report.
