Garwood Council President says Leader Wrong Again on AFC

Council President Sara Todisco publicly expressed her frustration with the Westfield Leader at the first regular council meeting of the New Year and called on the publisher of the venerable broadsheet for a retraction. She says the paper has twice published incorrect figures for the cost and tax impact of the the Athletic Field Complex. She said the suggested that the average per taxpayer cost of the $3.2-million project "would average about $1,800 per property owner" according to report in the Clark-Garwood Patch. Newly elected Councilmember Ann Palmer accused the Westfield Leader of "sloppy journalism."


Todisco says the impact to taxpayers is actually $375 over 15 years for homes assessed at $100,000, the report says.
