State Police Report: No Gang Members Live in Garwood


No Bloods, no Crips, no Latin Kings, or any other gang members live in Garwood, according to a recent report by the State Police. The 158 page survey took a census of known gang members and found that there was no presence in the borough. Neighboring Cranford also has no gang presence, but apparently Westfield does. According to the report it's estimated that 11 gang members live in Garwood's western neighbor. Overall, the report found that street gangs have a foothold in almost half of the state’s municipalities. Plainfield and Elizabeth had the highest estimated gang populations in Union County.
