GARWOOD —Municipal state aid for the Borough of Garwood was decreased by 20.45%. New Jersey’s proposed budget for the fiscal year 2011 was announced last Wednesday, March 17. The state’s budget is still subject to change. Garwood is projected to receive $490,186 in state aid, a decrease of 20.45%, or $126,013 from last year.

“I know that Chris Christie put the budget out there but it’s still subject to change,” Mayor Dennis J. McCarthy said. “We can only hope the legislators can compromise with the governor and some leeway will be given. All we can hope for is he come to his senses.”
