Garwood Still Refers to its Public Schools...Plural

Last December Garwood's board of education launched a new schools website for the borough- at a time when the town still had schools (plural, more than one). But, now when you click on the Schools tab, there is just a lonely link to Lincoln.

The 2010-2011 school year is the first year the borough has had one school for quite some time. The closure of Washington School came after word of Gov. Chris Christie's proposed budget for fiscal year 2010-2011 which included a 64% cut in state aid to the borough. Now Kindergartners and 8th graders share the same building.

Garwood officials launched the "schools" website on December 1st, 2009. New features included new pictures and links to the district's newsletter.
