Garwood's Forum at NJ.com tackled, what some say, is a growing problem at the borough's Roman Catholic Parish.
A poster to the Garwood Forum said the Christmas Midnight Mass was barely full this year.
"When it came time to offer the Sign of Peace to one another the closet person to me was two pews away" remarked a poster to the forum.
The poster said it was a sad sight to witness.

I am a communicant at St Anne's for the last 15 years. I attended Saturday Jan 2nd, 2010 5:30 pm mass. THe church was PACKED. I have two school age children. There is no way I could have stayed up for Midnight Mass.
ReplyDeleteAs for our Pastor, He can be very forthright and a little gruff. I am finding things out about our previous pastor which has become unsettling to me. If you attend St Anne's, you will know what I am talking about.
Unfortunately yes the Pastor is gruff and the church itself (especially the CCD program) is unorganized. They live in the dark-ages. I removed my daughter from the CCD program and we left the parish and went to Holy Trinity in Westfield. Much better run parish. It's a shame that the neighborhood church as driven away it's parishoners but isn't it like everything else in Garwood? Not well run.
