Coming Soon: North Avenue Flu Shots

School is back in session and this year comes with some added stress. The Office of Health Management is encouraging everyone, including kids (consult with your doctor) to get a flu shot this year to help combat H1N1- Swine Flu.

And in an effort to reach out to more people CVS in Garwood and other locations will be offering flu shots (which County Officials say should be covered by most insurance plans). Also, according to the County, shots will be made available free of charge to the unemployed.

Mark your calendar: The flu shots will be offered on October 15 for anyone 9 years of age or older from 10am until 2pm at the North Avenue CVS. Garwood residents can call 1-888-FLU-SHOT or go to www.cvs.com to find out more information. The County Office of Health Management is urging all residents to prepare themselves and their families to respond to, what they are calling, what may be an unpredictable flu season. Health officials say residents who do come down with influenza-like illnesses are advised to stay home to prevent the spread of illness to others and to give their bodies time to recover.
