1 Seat Ride to Manhattan?

While Garwood's Mayor and Council try to cozy up to NJ Transit to get more trains, a larger station and better parking. Westfield's Mayor has told the New York Times in an article published on September 11th that direct train service on the Raritan Valley Line to Manhattan is coming, and coming in 2016.

Mayor Andrew Skibitsky told the Times construction on a new rail tunnel into Manhattan means the Raritan Valley Line will be electrified and will clear the path into the City.

Good news for some homeowners in Garwood- who could see property values soar.

However, despite Westfield's Mayor's interview, NJ Transit, has yet to officially announce any plans to electrify the line.

What do you think? Vote in the new 365 poll on the side panel. Will direct service to Manhattan be good for Garwood?
