Planned on driving drunk through Garwood on St. Patrick's Day? Bad idea. According to the Garwood Police Department on March 16th into the early morning hours of March 17th a checkpoint was setup on South Avenue as Westfield and Garwood joined forces to help make the streets safer. The checkpoint resulted in the arrest of five individuals- 1 from Roselle, 2 from Westfield, 2 from Piscataway.
