Garwood Library: Check Out Hunger

Starting December 1st and running through December 18th the borough's library will be joining others throughout the county to collect food for those less fortunate. The Garwood Library will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items to benefit the New Jersey Community Food Bank.

The bank supplies food to more than 1,500 non-profit charities in 19 counties including soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters.

Organizers say the most needed groceries are: canned meat and fish, soups, stews, peanut butter, boxed pasta, rice, powdered milk, infant formula, canned vegetables and fruits.

  1. never understood the term "canned fish". I only see that someone would want tuna fish. Do the homeless or poor like any other kind of fish. There are others but i never heard someon say, hmmm canned salmon is the best! on a different note GW365 should list the upcoming "holiday" events on here like the dec 12 santa ride.
