In Print: Garwood Looks to Green Technology to Save Money

The 2011-2012 Board of Education budget is expected to be quite austere. To help balance the budget the Board is looking into the possible benefits of using renewable energy, according to a report on nj.com. The Board of Education postponed a vote on Tuesday to decide whether to adopt the Union County Improvement Authority’s Solar Energy Program. Officials claim if the program is adopted, installation and maintenance of solar panels atop Lincoln School would be free and would save Garwood on energy costs over the long term.
