It's a landmark on North Avenue, and this month, along with their normal busy schedule of events and shows, the local rock institution will celebrate its Sweet 16. Organizers say they will do so with a September 29th celebration, including performances by Minor Motion, Basement Skylights, Baba Yaga and School of Rock. Opened in 1996, Crossroads has billed itself as the best rock club this side of the Hudson River. It's owners say they do their best to feature the best of local and national acts 7 days a week. They also describe the performance venue this way: "it's as if New York City and N'awlins had a baby and moved to the suburbs..."

before crossroads, the name was Industrial XO i believe for maybe 5 years. Also I remember the buildling was named the Red Caboose probably throughout the 70's. Don't remember what was there in the 80's. Nor what was there before the Red Caboose. I know it was closed for a couple of years before the XO opened. Can anyone fill in the blanks on the history.
