In Print: Garwood's Average Tax Bill is Up 4.7% in 2010
Local taxes in municipalities throughout the state continue to rise, and according to an analysis by the Star Ledger, local tax levies are rising much faster than the new 2% cap passed by the state last year.
In Garwood the average tax bill is up 4.7%, bringing the borough's average above $8,000, according to tax data compiled at nj.com.
In July, Gov. Chris Christie signed the 2 percent cap on local property tax hikes into law.
