New Jersey's most important newspaper may be most popular for its series centered around its hot dog covered Munchmobile. It winds its way through the state finding hidden foodie gems.
In a recent report it visited Garwood to try out cakes at the Sugar House on North Avenue. The paper described the independently owned shop as 'country-cute, with hardwood floors, magazines and a couch.'
The munchers sampled double chocolate cake, carrot cake, decorated vanilla cake and a creation known simply as the hummingbird.
The hummingbird was described as a cake with pecans, pineapple, bananas and cream cheese. The day’s best trio of icings was found here, proclaimed the Munchers.
