Garwood Public Library Collecting Food for the Needy

Garwood cares for those in need, and the borough library is no exception. Staff at the facility have set up their annual food drive to benefit local pantries. The library on the Northside is accepting donations of non-perishable food, liked canned items. Collection bins are located at the entrance. Proceeds from the food drive will go to the New Jersey Community Food Bank, organizers say. Groceries most urgently needed are always canned meat and fish; canned soups and stews; peanut butter (in plastic jars); boxed pasta and rice; powdered milk; infant formula; canned vegetables and fruits. For more information visit the Union County Public Libraries web site at www.luccnj.org, or call the borough library at: 908-789-1670.
