Halloween Parade Will March Through Downtown Garwood
Ghosts and goblins (and probably a few Disney Princesses too) will be hitting the Borough’s streets for the annual Garwood Lions Halloween Parade.
The parade is now one of Garwood’s biggest events, turning the collective attention of residents to the heart of its traditional Downtown.
The parade steps-off on Thursday evening October 31st at 7:00 PM prompt. After assembling at Willow Avenue and Center Street marchers will proceed to the Lincoln School gymnasium on Second Avenue, according to Organizers. Costume judging will take place in the school's gymnasium.
The Garwood Police Department is eager for a happy celebration in the Borough’s center, but urges that safety should come first. Amongst other recommendations the Department wants parade-goers to wear bright costumes that have large eye slits to see through. Police say it’s also imperative to cross at the corners where motorists expect you to be. More.
Borough residents should also be aware that the PTA will be hosting a trick-or-treat event on October 26th. Again, safety is paramount. Police remind everyone that any opened candy should be disposed of and children should have their parents check candy before it is devoured.
