Expect Flooding at Garwood's Center Street Underpass

Downtown's Center Street Underpass is flood prone.

Here we go again. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency Center Street's Underpass is the most flood prone location in Garwood. And if Irene, and past storms, are any indication the Underpass will most likely be closed during and after the arrival of Sandy.

Forecasters say Sandy has New Jersey in its sights.


Official FEMA maps lists the crucial connector between the North and South sides of town as Zone A, the designation for the most likely locations for waters to pool.
