smaller district and more pay. Yet they still complain... gotta love it.
ReplyDeletei beleive the ulterior message was more years experience but less wages for that length of service.
ReplyDeleteTeachers work on average 170 days a year prorate it. the average employee in the private sector works 247 days a year (with avg days off too). Take the $54,000 salary and and come up with a daily rate and multiply it by the 247 day and that salary is equal to around $78,450 a year, then add the free pension and health benefits and total compensation is over a $100,000/yr. My math aint exact but the teacher union has us all fooled that these poor teachers live in poverty.
ReplyDeleteTHE QUALITY OF THE TEACHER IN GARWOOD IS NOT AS HIGH AS CRANFORD OR WESTFIELD. THE OTHER TOWNS MUST PAY MORE IN TAXES TO PAY THEIR TEACHERS MORE; THEY HAVE MORE CHILDREN; THEY HAVE MORE POPULATION IN BOTH TOWNS. IS THERE IS ANY REASON WHY ANYONE SHOULD QUESTION THIS? SEEMS LIKE A NO BRAINER - WELL, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WE GET FROM GARWOOD. THE TEACHERS HERE ARE SPOILED, NOT CREATIVE AND WHINE AT AT EVERY TURN. THEY NEED TO DO THEIR JOB, NOT JUST COLLECT A PAYCHECK. BESIDES, PERHAPS WE SHOULD HAVE A NON-NEPOTISM RULE.
