On May 23 if you try and catch the 4:55 pm local train from Newark you won't find it, and you'll be waiting a good hour until another train departs Ewr-Penn for Garwood.
NJ Transit is cutting back on at least two trains per line. The Raritan Valley is loosing its 4:55pm train to High Bridge, and a morning train to Newark- (that won't matter to Garwood commuters since it doesn't actually stop in town to begin with.)
If you're keeping score at home the train getting the ax is 5903.
'TRANSIT VILLAGE' TO LOOSE 1 TRAIN DAILY
The new schedule is on-line and it looks like the 5733 train which didn't stop in Garwood - has been changed to a local. The 5733 train leaves Newark at 4:45 pm and arrives in Garwood at 5:07 pm according to the new schedule.
