Neighbor in NeedAs news of a massive death toll comes out of the nation of Haiti-- Garwood residents may step-up and either volunteer time, or more likely, donate money. But, just a reminder: scammers prey on good-natured people during times of disaster.
Use care when 'texting' donations-- there is word of a number of scams in New Jersey. And, be very wary of anyone going door to door claiming to be raising money.
When in doubt-- donate through known channels of charity like the Red Cross and AmeriCares.
