Court: Justice for 2006 G'wood Attack

The Star Ledger is reporting that the man who beat an elderly courier and held up a borough card store in 2006 has been sentenced for that attack and a slew of other things.

Rahway man sentenced to 27 years in prison for string of N.J. bank robberies

Ruben Rosado joined accomplices in the so-called "Route 35 crew" at least11 times in violent robberies at banks and credit unions in Middlesex and Union countiesthat netted $288,000.

Today, the 32-year-old Rosado, of Rahway, was told he would serve more than 27 years in prison for thestring of robberies crimes committed in the two counties in 2007.

U.S. District Judge Joel A. Pisano in Trenton sentenced Rosado for those crimes as well as three other armed robberies committed from August 2006 through November 2007.

FBI agents considered the group so dangerous that during the crime spree a $35,000 reward was offered for information leading to their capture and conviction.

In addition to the bank jobs, Rosado was sentenced for three separate robberies, including an August 2006 home invasion in Allentown, Pa, where he bound and gagged a woman and put a gun to her child’s head, and a November 2006 hold-up at a Garwood card and gift store where he beat an elderly courier.
