A home on Center Street was gutted by fire late Tuesday night/ early Wednesday morning. The fire started on the back porch of 304 Center Street and quickly spread, according to a report on nj.com. First reponders evacuated the house and neighboring houses, in case the fire spread. No injuries were reported, the article says. The fire went to 3 alarms according to the Clark-Garwood Patch.
As the fire escalated to three alarms, crews from Clark, Cranford, Westfield, Elizabeth, Kenilworth, Scotch Plains, Fanwood and Springfield also responded to the scene and fought the blaze alongside Garwood FD in a defensive attack with ladders and hoses, Patch says.
