Garwood Police Chief Gets Raise

Despite some opposition on the Garwood Council the Chief of the Police Department, Bruce Underhill is getting a 3.1% raise. The raise was hammered out at a recent council meeting, according to a report in the venerable Westfield Leader. An ordinance was also passed to establish wages and salaries for others in town including the librarian and director of the Office of Emergency Management, the report says.
Two council members said they felt raises should have been capped at 2%.
