Aging Garwood Water Main to be Rehabbed on Hemlock Avenue

Southside Project
Over time water mains can be clogged with sediment which can lead to clogs and other problems. To avoid such issues New Jersey American Water will be cleaning and lining an important water main in the borough’s far Southside near Unami Park. The company says the water main dates back the 1930s, according to a report in the Westfield Leader. To ensure water service will not interrupted workers will install a temporary above ground water line to serve customers, the report says. The project is scheduled for weekdays from 7 am to 5 pm. and last through November.
