Garwood Police Department to Collect Prescription Drugs for Disposal
Prescription drug abuse has become a major problem in Union County- especially with teens.
To combat the trend the Garwood Police Department is taking part in a program to collect unused prescription drugs that are sitting inside homes throughout the borough. Unwanted, unused, and expired medications have become one of the main sources for teens to gain access to powerful drugs. The program is part of Operation Take Back New Jersey.
To have your drugs disposed of properly drop off your meds on Saturday September 25th between 10am and 2pm at Police Headquarters at 403 South Avenue. For more information call 908-789-1500m or email Captain Leonard DiStefano at l-distefano@garwood.org.
