Reader: Youngsters 'Gain Appreciation' of Troop Sacrifice
The Garwood Library's 'Holiday Mail for Heroes' event held Friday drew 15 children armed with crayons, markers and colored paper, according to a 365 reader.
The children created 40 cards for service men and women.
"From the sentiments expressed in the cards, I do believe the youngsters gained an appreciation of the sacrifices the troops are making to preserve our freedom," said the reader- posted under the name CW.
The children also created 75 Christmas ornaments for the 'Trees for Troops' project sponsored by Williams Nursery in Westfield. For more information on the project, more pictures (like the one above), and to learn more, check out the Nursery's blog: http://williamsnursery.blogspot.com/
Kudos to all involved!
